If you find yourself in the picturesque coastal town of Benalmádena, don’t miss the vibrant atmosphere and authentic flavors of La Tapería de Benalmádena. Renowned for its delightful tapas, this charming bar located on Av. del Chorrillo is a gastronomic gem that brings together the essence of traditional Andalusian cuisine with a welcoming ambiance.
Step inside and let the lively atmosphere envelop you. The buzz of local chatter combined with the scent of sizzling Spanish delicacies invites you to indulge. Popular dishes here include the crispy croquettes de pollo, flavorful Pincho Morón chicken skewers, and the succulent berenjenas (fried eggplant) that transport your taste buds to the heart of Andalusia. Each bite is a celebration of flavors, with ingredients that are as fresh as the sea breeze blowing through the open-air seating on warmer evenings.
Many guests rave about the generous portions and impeccable service. Customer Mayra Reyes described her experience as "the best restaurant during our stay in Costa del Sol," praising the “deli” food and noting how the friendly server, Tomas, made their visit memorable. Whether you’re enjoying the rich campero de pollo or the tantalizing salpicon de marisco (seafood salad), each plate promises a taste of authenticity that is hard to find in larger urban settings.
While the bustling atmosphere might not suit those seeking a quiet dining experience, it adds to the charm of La Tapería. Guest Dan noted the lively environment and appreciated the huevos rotos con jamon, further highlighting that the local tapas experience is vibrant and rich. There’s a distinct joy to be found in the shared plates and communal feel, where laughter and clinking glasses accompany every meal.
Though some diners like Klaudia Petrán encountered slight delays during busy periods, they reaffirm the quality of food as delicious and worth the wait, proving that patience pays off at La Tapería. Come ready to savor every moment, with a friendly staff eager to guide you through a menu that celebrates the spirit of Spain.
In a world busy with places offering quick meals, La Tapería de Benalmádena stands out as a testament to the joys of traditional tapas dining. A place where every meal feels like a festive gathering, it’s more than just food; it's a cultural experience that you won’t soon forget. This is the best restaurant during our stay in Costa del Sol. Food was deli, good size portions, service was amazing and very affordable. Our server Tomas was very nice, funny and took great care of us. We ordered the mushrooms croquettes, the Pincho Moron (chicken skeewer), tosta de carne mecha, berenjenas and a flan. All food was amazing. We had a wonderful time. Service was the best. I strongly recomend it. There is a parking very close in the morador, like 5 min walking distance.

Atmosphere: Typical Spanish Bar. If you like places more quiet this is not for you Food: Croquettes de pollo were ok but not great Campero de pollo was good so were the Boquerones al vinagre. Salpicon de Marisco was good as well. One of the best i had in Andalucia. Huebos rotos con jamon was good as well. Service: Mostly fast and friendly

Really wonderful, authentic experience! The food was extremely fresh, hot, and full of flavor. Despite the language barrier, the waitress was incredibly friendly and made us feel very welcome. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy genuine Spanish hospitality and cuisine

Unfortunately we arrived to the restaurant at a very busy period (even it was off-season), and also they forgot our food I guess, so we were waiting for our meal more than 1 hour. Otherwise, I can recommend the place; food was delicious and really Andalusian! Don't go to the big cities if you want to try real local food, choose these smaller ones instead! Much cheaper and much better!

Tapas alfresco! Service of a neighborhood bar. Great tapas! I recomemend the garlic snails, but rhe olives, meatballs, spanish frittata were all excellent choices. Not completely free, I do not think we drank enough! Not easy to get to, limited parking, steep hills, try to park above and walk (There is a public park above with parking)
